The Galley - St. Ignace has quickly carved a niche as a beloved American dining destination in the heart of St. Ignace, Michigan. Housed within a cozy setting, this restaurant delivers a comforting family-dining experience while exceeding expectations with its impressive menu. Guests rave about the locally caught fresh whitefish, whether deep-fried or broiled, and the Great Lakes Sampler showcases the area’s bounty with a delightful trio of whitefish, walleye, and perch. Lisa Dragan highlighted the generous portions and impeccable preparation of the king crab, noting that even the kids’ meals, like fish and burgers, stand out in quality. Emily Wloch echoed this sentiment, recommending the whitefish dip and grilled chicken summer salad. The freshness and flavor are undeniable, complemented by attentive and polite service—a hallmark of The Galley. While some guests, like Wloch, mention the decor could use a refresh, they agree that this does not detract from the overall experience. The Galley’s commitment to reliability—staying true to their operating hours—adds to its charm. With large portions, reasonable prices, and a full bar, The Galley is a must-visit spot for anyone in St. Ignace, promising a satisfying meal alongside stunning water views.

Feels like a family dinner but the food well surpasses any dinner I've been too. Every plate had large portions, and everything was so good. One thing I always judge restaurants on is their coleslaw and theirs was great! I had king crab and it was perfectly cooked. I can also say the kids fish was delicious and much Metter than what I expected for a kids plate. Will definitely return.

If you're visiting St Ignace, you've gotta stop at the Galley! The food is made fresh to order and tastes amazing! We can all recommend their whitefish or walleye served with seasonal veggies ( green beans, sliced carrots, and broccoli sauteed on butter and seasoned deliciously), the whitefish dip, summer salad with grilled chicken, and kids' meals including the burgers and grilled cheese. The servers are helpful and polite, but most importantly, the Galley is reliable. What I mean here is the fact that their website says they're open until 10pm on Sundays, and they truly are as one of not that many local restaurants that have false information on their web pages (Buoys By The Bay). We were happy to dine at the Galley twice during our weekend trip to Mackinac Island, and the food and the service were excellent on both occasions. The only thing that needs some improvement is the decor as it is slightly outdated. Still, we recommend the Galley in St,Ignace!

There’s really only 3 decent places to eat at this time of the year in St. Ignace...but it was just 2 until we stopped here on a whim. Really good food, reasonably priced, and a full bar. Can’t ask for much more in a sleepy town at the end of tourist season. This will now be a regular stop for us on our annual visit.

Dave our waiter was a 5 star act all by himself. The food was delicious and the real test is when the meal comes fried and you asked for it to be broiled and they can do it. That means they have a great chef and fresh food. They even do chili right. I have nothing negative to say.

My friend and I decided to try The Galley out for dinner on our vacation and we LOVED it! The staff was pleasant and our server took great care of us. I enjoyed the Broiled Whitefish - it was cooked very well. I would definitely recommend this place!
